\n32-bar strathspey for three couples in a four-couple longwise set<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013 8 1st and 2nd couples dance the tourbillon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 \u2013 12 1st couple and first corners set, 1st couple advancing to finish back to back. 1st couple and first corners, giving both hands, turn to finish 1st woman between 2nd couple and 1st man between 3rd couple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13 \u2013 16 1st couple and second corners set, 1st couple advancing to finish back to back. 1st couple and second corners, giving both hands, turn to finish with 1st couple in second place on opposite sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 \u2013 20 1st couple, passing by the left shoulder in the middle to begin, dance a half diagonal reel of four with third corners and finish with 1st man in the middle at the top facing down, 1st woman in the middle in third place facing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

21 \u2013 24 1st couple, passing by the left shoulder in the middle to begin, dance a half diagonal reel of four with fourth corners and finish in second place on own sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

25 \u2013 27 1st woman dances three hands round to the left with 3rd couple (at the top) while 1st man dances three hands round to the left with 2nd couple (at the bottom).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

28 \u2013 30 1st couple release left hands and 1st woman leads 3rd couple down the women\u2019s side while 1st man leads 2nd couple up the men\u2019s side to dance six hands halfway round to the left. Finish in the order 2, 1, 3 with 1st couple on opposite sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

31 \u2013 32 1st couple, giving right hands, cross over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repeat, having passed a couple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1955, Mrs Ysobel Stewart (co-founder of the RSCDS) moved to South Africa, where she found the climate more agreeable to her rheumatism. During a trip to Cape Town, the deviser visited the suburb of Fish Hoek ( also known as Vishoek) where Mrs Stewart lived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013 8 1st couple dance a figure of eight on own side. (1st couple dancing in and down to start)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 \u2013 16 1st couple dance Inveran reels with 2nd and 3rd couples. (1st couple cross over at both top and bottom of the reel to finish back in own place).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 \u2013 24 1st couple lead down the middle and up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

25 \u2013 32 1st and 2nd couples dance an Allemande.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st couple repeat from new position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This dance is devised in honour of the wedding of my sister, Pamela Brown,
\nto Gordon Cairns on March 04, 2000 at Crieff Hydro, Perthshire, Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013 8 Pamela and Gordon led separate lives.
\n9 \u2013 16 Their paths crossed a couple of times.
\n17 \u2013 24 They started dating.
\n25 \u2013 32 They became inseparable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 \u2013 8 1st and 2nd couples dance right hands across for three steps and left hands back for five steps. 1st couple finish on the man\u2019s side and 2nd couple finish on the woman\u2019s side, man below woman in both cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 \u2013 16 1st couple lead down the middle and up, to finish on the men\u2019s side, 1st man in original place and 1st woman in 2nd man\u2019s place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 \u2013 24 1st and 2nd couples dance rights and lefts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

25 \u2013 32 1st and 2nd couples, facing down and up on the sides, set twice to partners. Giving both hands, 1st and 2nd couples turn partners to own sides, the men passing diagonally in the middle. 2nd couple finish in top place, 1st couple in second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repeat, having passed a couple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
